Getting to Cuxhaven ferry port:
If Travelling from the North:

The following directions depend on where you will be travelling from:
A. If travelling from the Flensburg area, take the A7 south, take the exit signposted Hamburg/Heimfeld and turn into the Cuxhavener Strasse, which becomes the B73 and you will pass through the towns of Buxtehude and Stade. This road takes you all the way to Cuxhaven. At the first roundabout take the road signed England Ferry/Harwich. Follow the road for 2.3 km and turn into Lubbert Strasse where you will find the Hapag Halle / DFDS Seaways Terminal after approximately 1.7 km.

B. If Travelling from the direction of Lübeck, take the A1 until you reach the Bremer Kreuz (highway crossing at Bremen), then turn onto the A27 which leads you directly to Cuxhaven. Follow directions as above.
C. Should you wish to cross the Elbe by ferry, via the A23 from the south, take the B431 at Elmshom in the direction of Glückestadt where you can take the ferry to Wischafen. Ferries run every hour at an approximate cost of €5.50 - €8.50 per car and €1.50 per person – subject to change.
From Wischafen, pass through the town of Balje until you join the B73. Following signs to Cuxhaven, follow directions as above.

If travelling from the South:

Follow signs onto either A1 or A7 until you reach the Bremer Kreuz, then follow signs onto the A27. Keep on this road which takes you all the way to Cuxhaven, then follow directions as above.
